Enjoy the quaintness of the Hepburn General Store, the best spot in Daylesford and surrounds to pick up a snack and all your essentials. Hepburn Springs doesn’t have a supermarket, but this charming general store stocks fresh fruits and veggies, coffee, gourmet food, and delicious cheeses. If you’re looking for a bite to eat, you can also enjoy a fresh-made lunch or coffee.

FINE DINING

There are too many great restaurants in Daylesford and Hepburn Springs to count. When you’re in the area, we recommend you check out the Argus Dining Room for a romantic dinner, the Blue Bean Cafe for a quick bite, or Cliffy’s Emporium for a great coffee. If you’re in the mood for something flavourful, Kazuki’s serves Japanese-European fusion.

PASSING CLOUDS

Passing Clouds is a family-owned winery in Musk. They hold events throughout the year that are open to members and the public.

ELLENDER ESTATE

At Ellender Estate, you can visit the vineyard, go wine tasting, and bring a bottle home.

DAYLESFORD WINE TOURS

Daylesford Wine Tours is an award-winning tour. They offer two different tours: one where you can take a look at 3 cellar doors, and another where you can take a look at 5 cellar doors and eat lunch at the vineyard.

GOLFING

There are a handful of golf clubs around Hepburn Springs. You can head to Daylesford Mini Golf for a bit of lighthearted fun or check out Hepburn Springs Golf Club if you’re craving an 18-hole in the middle of beautiful bushland.

FISHING

Fishing in nearby lakes, creeks, and reservoirs can be a tranquil and fun activity if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet out in nature.

There are markets Friday to Sunday all around Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, and neighbouring areas. While you’re staying in the area, you can check out the Castlemaine Wesley Hill Market, Daylesford Sunday Market, Woodend Farmers Market, Woodend Lions Club Market or Hepburn Twilight Makers Market. Just be sure to check a calendar to see which market is on during your stay!

THE MILLS MARKET

The Mills Market has something for everyone. They boast being Australia’s largest mix of collectables, fashions, home decor, antiques, and vintage. While you’re there, you can enjoy a coffee or a meal at one of their cafes.

OPEN STUDIOS

Open Studios brings together artists and the public in one place. During this unique experience, you can listen to an artist talk about and demonstrate their skills and ask them questions at Open Studios.

Bike Paths and Walking Trails

WALLABY TRACK

Wallaby Track goes from Creswick to Daylesford. This quaint trail is filled with swamp wallabies and peppermint forest. You can also take the track by bike.

WOMBAT STATE FOREST

You can go bushwalking around Wombat State Forest, an awe-inspiring forest filled with foliage and wildlife. If you like birdwatching, you might be able to sight some of the 150 species of birds known to flock around this area.

HEPBURN SPRING MINERAL RESERVES

There are walking trails throughout the reserves. Before you visit the spa, be sure to check out some of the beautiful sights around.

TERRA AUSTRALIS DISTILLERY

Terra Australis Distillery sells a range of herbal lore liqueurs. You can visit their location in Daylesford and enjoy the lush green scenery around their store.

DAYLESFORD CIDER HOUSE

The cider at Daylesford Cider House is handcrafted using organic apples. The cellar door is open every day of the week and lunch is available Friday through Monday.

BIG TREE DISTILLERY

Big Tree Distillery is run by a husband and wife team who set out to produce small batch Australian gins. If you’re looking for a good place for a gin, check out Big Tree Distillery at one of their many nearby suppliers.
